
Coffee cake recipe using Bisquick

A well liked family ritual growing up was apple coffee dessert on Sunday mornings. My dad would prepare it for their six greedy young ones, most of us begging for him to gain the brown sugar.

Cake:
- 2 cups Bisquick blend
- 2/3 cup of milk or liquid
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tart green apple, cored, peeled, cut
Topping:
- 1/3 cup Bisquick mix
- 1/3 cup stuffed brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp surface cinnamon
- 4 Tbsp butter
Method
Preheat range to 400 levels F.
Grease 8" square cooking pan or 9" round cooking pan. Combine dessert components. Spread cake batter in cooking pan. Place apple slices to the batter evenly through the dessert.
3 blend the topping ingredients of Bisquick, brown sugar and cinnamon. Spread topping mix over top of batter in cooking pan. Add pieces of butter throughout the top.
4 Bake 20 mins or until golden-brown, testing with a toothpick.
